Hi, I’m Jennifer Alice — a Kalamazoo, Michigan artist working in watercolor and acrylics, somewhere at the intersection of memory, emotion, and the natural world.
My work tends toward the quiet and the strange: soft bunnies alongside death’s-head moths, beetles with their own kind of dignity, the moody palette of the Great Lakes region. Call it Midwestern Gothic. It feels right.
I’ve been making art that has found its way into personal collections on six of the seven continents, which still feels surreal to type. Someone in Cape Town has a piece of Michigan on their wall. That kind of connection is exactly why I do this.
Thank you for being here. It genuinely means everything.
